Kevin Ghiglione uses the classical art principles of composition, value, colour, and texture to create his abstract paintings. His larger paintings are created with mixed media encaustic medium manipulated through many layers of additive and subtractive processes. His smaller works are predominantly created in mixed media acrylic. He is inspired by the passage of time. The presence of mankind - evidences of wear, vestiges of architecture, and hints of lost communication - are in his artworks. Some of his works suggest timing in a visualization of the cadence of music. Viewing the pieces in person, the artwork shows a discovery of hidden and excavated elements that can leave the viewer questioning what information has been lost.
